Florida Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury Lawyer
For more than 30 years, Gregg M. Hollander has represented people and families in serious personal injury cases, with a particular focus on medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and commercial transportation matters. His work has resulted in significant recoveries for clients and families facing life-changing injuries and losses.
Gregg founded Hollander Law Firm in 1996 with an approach that continues to define the firm today. Significant cases require the resources to investigate complicated medical and factual issues, work with qualified experts, and prepare for litigation. But Gregg does not believe those resources should come at the expense of personal representation.
Hollander Law Firm combines the resources and capabilities required to investigate, develop, and litigate significant cases with the accessibility and personal attention of a boutique practice. Gregg remains directly involved in significant cases and works closely with clients to understand not only what happened, but how an injury or loss has changed their lives. This approach matters because the answers are not always obvious.
A patient may know that a serious condition was diagnosed too late without knowing when a doctor should have recognized it. A family may know that something went wrong during medical treatment without understanding whether the outcome could have been prevented. After a catastrophic collision, the immediate cause may be clear while the decisions that created the danger remain hidden. Greggās work begins with finding those answers.
Serious injury cases often turn on medical and factual details that are not apparent at the beginning.
In a medical malpractice case, Gregg may need to reconstruct months or years of treatment through medical records, diagnostic imaging, laboratory results, physician notes, and expert analysis. Establishing that a mistake occurred may not be enough. The evidence must also address when appropriate care should have been provided and whether that care could have changed the patientās outcome.
A catastrophic injury raises additional questions. The investigation must establish not only how the injury occurred, but what it will mean for the person living with it. Future medical treatment, rehabilitation, lost earning capacity, mobility needs, and the ability to live independently can become important parts of the case.
Commercial transportation cases involve different evidence. Electronic logging data, vehicle records, driver qualification files, maintenance histories, dispatch communications, and company safety practices may reveal failures that are not documented in the crash report.
Gregg evaluates each case based on the evidence it requires. He works with medical specialists and other qualified experts when necessary to understand what happened, establish why it happened, and document the consequences for his client.
People facing a significant injury should not have to choose between sophisticated legal resources and personal representation.
Hollander Law Firm has the resources to investigate, develop, and litigate complex cases at the level they demand. At the same time, the firm remains intentionally structured so Gregg can stay directly involved.
Clients work with an attorney who knows their case, understands the evidence, and remains involved as the facts develop. Gregg participates in the analysis and strategy rather than handing significant decisions to someone unfamiliar with the details of the case. That relationship can become especially important when litigation lasts for years. A clientās medical condition may change. Additional treatment may become necessary. New evidence may emerge. The long-term effects of an injury may become clearer.
Direct involvement allows Gregg to understand those developments in context and make decisions based on the complete picture rather than a snapshot taken shortly after the injury.
Greggās results include significant recoveries in cases involving medical malpractice, catastrophic injuries, and wrongful death. Many of those cases required the development of complex medical and factual issues after responsibility was initially disputed.
In one medical malpractice case, a child arrived at a Boca Raton emergency department with a brain bleed and needed treatment at a facility with neurosurgical capabilities. A delay of more than two hours occurred while a transfer was arranged. The child suffered an acute brain herniation during transport, resulting in severe neurological damage. Liability was denied during the pre-suit investigation. The case ultimately resolved for $7.5 million, providing resources for the childās lifelong specialized care and therapy.
Gregg also represented the family of a child who was discharged from a Fort Lauderdale emergency department after presenting with abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. The child returned 36 hours later and was diagnosed with diabetic ketoacidosis and acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis. The resulting complications caused severe brain damage and required an eight-month hospitalization. Despite a pre-suit denial of liability, the case resulted in a $7 million settlement.
His results also include a $4.3 million recovery for a passenger who suffered permanent paraplegia when a commercial vehicle ran a stop sign and struck the SUV in which the client was riding.
The amount of compensation you receive for a medical malpractice or personal injury settlement or verdict in Florida varies based on the unique circumstances of each case and the severity of your injuries. However, these cases illustrate why significant injury litigation often requires more than establishing that something went wrong. The medical history, timing of treatment, cause of the injury, long-term consequences, and evidence of responsibility must fit together to show what happened and what the client or family will need in the years ahead.

Over more than three decades, Gregg has handled cases involving difficult questions of medicine, causation, liability, and long-term harm. He has seen how facts can change as records are examined, experts become involved, witnesses are questioned, and evidence not available at the outset comes to light.
That history gives Gregg a practical understanding of what significant cases require. He knows when the initial explanation does not account for all the evidence, when a medical issue requires deeper analysis, and when a case needs additional resources to establish what happened and why.
Since founding Hollander Law Firm in 1996, Gregg has shaped the practice around the demands of significant cases. The firm has built the resources and professional relationships needed to take on cases involving complex medical and factual issues, while staying focused on the people and families behind them.
Gregg is a Florida native and has spent his legal career representing injured people and families statewide. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida in 1988 and his Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University College of Law in 1992.
